Wonderverse

Wonderverse was a sensory playground inside an old airport hangar, blending storytelling, play, and rest to reawaken awe and connection. Co-created with Rebuild and YZD, the large-scale public art experience ran for one unforgettable weekend in April 2025 and welcomed over 2,000 attendees. Wonderverse invited participants to practice prosocial behaviors, rekindle their sense of play, and remember what it feels like to have hope in community again.

  • Wonderverse ran for one weekend in April 2025 inside a decommissioned airport hangar. Over 2,000 people moved through the space by participating in a series of multi-sensory adventures—featuring puzzles, storytelling, and unexpected twists designed to spark connection and joy.

  • Reset was invited by Rebuild to co-apply for YZD’s Beyond the Tarmac competition, which called on community groups to animate a soon-to-be-transformed airport site. Wonderverse was one of three winning concepts selected to bring the space to life.

  • We saw a rare chance to create a hopeful, interactive antidote to disconnection and declining trust. Wonderverse built on our experience with audio-led formats and participatory design, offering a space for people to play, imagine, and choose community—together.

  • Wonderverse was co-created with Rebuild and YZD, and made possible by a dedicated core team and a wide network of collaborators, artists, and volunteers who brought their hearts and creativity to every detail.

  • Wonderverse was fully funded through a $100,000 prize from the Beyond the Tarmac competition hosted by YZD.

Wonderverse was not just something we made—it was something we made together. At Reset, we believe that co-creation is more than a process; it’s a reflection of our values. It’s how we practice trust, honor diverse contributions, and build the kind of community we want to live in.

In addition to those named in the image, we want to extend our deepest thanks to the entire YZD team, whose belief in this work made Wonderverse possible. A special shout-out to Alana, Asha, Mitchell, Heath, and Victoria for their care, creativity, and collaboration throughout the journey.

We’d also like to acknowledge Tricia Almeida of Eternia Studio, whose photography captured the spirit and magic of the experience with stunning care and GoMingl for the connective puzzle pieces that made the finale so magical.

Wonderverse stands as a reminder of what becomes possible when we choose community—and choose to create it together.
