We all have stories to share.
Learn from human books at our Human Libraries !

March 14-17 & 23-24

Weeknights: 5:00pm-8:00pm, Weekends: 12:00pm-3:00pm

For 6 days in March, the Reset Living Room is hosting a Human Library in which over 30 incredible business owners, leaders, and community members will be "books" that can be "borrowed" for a 25 minute, 1:1 conversation to share their professional expertise, personal experiences, and passion projects.

Human Libraries are based on the belief that everyone has a story to tell, and that sharing these stories can build greater understanding, empathy, and connection within communities.

Since originating in Denmark, Human Libraries have since spread globally as a innovative way to promote inclusivity, diversity, and cultural exchange.

Reset Human Libraries project is possible because of the generous support of FedDev Ontario and the City of Toronto.

How Does it Work?

Step 1. Check out our library schedule here

Step 2. Choose which books you’d like to “borrow”

Step 3. Schedule a time with your books to secure your spot! (each book has only 6, 25-minute spots available)

Some things to note:

  • Borrows can be reserved one at a time and are first come, first serve.

  • When booking, please limit yourself to six borrows throughout the libraries and only one session with any one book.

  • Please arrive 10 minutes before the beginning of your first conversation. Should you need to cancel or change a session please try to do so a few hours in advance.

  • Some conversations will be hosted in the lower level, down a flight of stairs. If this inhibits your access, please let us know so we can ensure to adjust your session.

  • We are a shoe free Living Room (there are some slippers that can be used).

  • Children are welcome to join you!

What can I expect from the conversations?

The book titles give some context around the topics and information may be presented after introductions to get things flowing, however, as with any conversation, you can ask questions about the content shared and you may find the topic changes organically as conversation deepens.

Please remember, the stories shared by the "books" are personal and may be sensitive. Please respect the privacy and confidentiality of the "books" and their experiences.
